Our journey to one of the remote ancients place Koh Ker temple which took us up to the north-west of Siem Reap, approximately 3 and a half hour drive. The temple is situated within Preah Vihear province, Siem Reap's boarder and I must say its astonished to get a closer look at this forgotten temple or the "Cambodia Pyramid" said the local.
We're arrived at around 12:40pm, the trees and the jungle somewhat protecting us from the summer heat, the breeze and the environment is what made this temple one of my favorite. Koh Ker temple at its height is about 35 meters and the ground base of the square building is approximately 240 meters (All four side). Historian said Koh Ker the Cambodia Pyramid was constructed for or by the Jayavarman IV (Khmer King) and started during the 900 AD, the resembling of the temple can be familiarize to Baksey Chamkrong in Angkor.

Today in this afternoon I stopped by my favorite car wash "Sopheakmit" their coffees somewhat pretty standard for my tastes and yes of course their hot latte green teas, the boss and the staff there are very kinds and super responsible, last time I had my wallet inside my vehicle and forgotten to take it out, not a single notes are missing even though their boss wasn't there to monitors. Came out for a smoke and accidentally bump into the little grandkid of the typical Cambodian lady, We're had a nice short conversation, on where her about - very humble and respectful with a softy voice "I came to Siem Reap, to see my son whom doing his major in one of the University, I do not know what his major though" she apologize, smile with slight embarrassment Siem Reap is definitely the town that's I would live and thrive, the people is unlike in the capital are very respectful and humble if anybody could find other places better than the city of temple please give me a shout out.
So yesterday my family from Taiwan came to visit not only to see Angkor Wat but to understand how my life as a solo adventure I am, got up very early to see the sunrise over the temple but the cloud is very much scatter so the views wasn't that great - we had a quick breakfast in town and came back home for a quick shower before heading back to the temples, I see that's my sister is very keen on exploring more temples before she flight back the very next day after tomorrow - the Angkor half day tour we took is very well establish so I just sit back and go with the flow and lets the professional do their deed. Nowadays I like to travel away from the crowd not because I hated people or the party but living a board is somewhat mesmerizing in terms of privacy, as you can see the fact can be going on and on for a solo rider as myself. Pictures this; I had along fun with both peers and families since the day I've seen the lights, but no matter how much you and I try to contemplated away how much fun and freedom you can have while staying away from home and yet still feel at home. Residing in Melbourne Residence - Siem Reap directly book at Vacation Rental Siem Reap is the best time of my life in Siem Reap while exploring this town and Temples.
So here I am again, at one of my favorite coffee hang out at Bio-Lab which in turn was the best morning since I am very delight at the weather, it's cold and wet - I can't really stand the sweat down to my back with the warm-hot weather here in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
My stay in Siem Reap is going to be 3 months, so exploring this tiny and beautiful town and her magnificent temples is the way to end my solo holiday vacation plus get away from the crowded type is a bonus. |
